Polaris Discovery Suite
For PCs and Macs, PowerPAC works with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome - virtually any modern standards-compliant web browser. PowerPAC is the “workhorse” for public access search discovery; It is the tool your users will employ within the library and on their home computers.
For smart phones, Mobile PAC runs on any hand-held device which incorporates a web browser. Mobile PAC is not an “app” and does not require your users to download software.
When a smart phone user visits your library site, Polaris detects that she is using a mobile device and the layout is automatically switched to Mobile PAC.
Owl iLibrary brings Polaris to the Apple iPad and Android devices.
Once your library has implemented Owl iLibrary, your users simply download the free app from the either the Apple App Store or Google Play. No additional setup on the tablet is required.
Using the Polaris API (Application Programming Interface) you can “tweak” a little under the hood or build a completely new tool from the ground up.
The Polaris Developer Network gives you a forum for collaborating with other members of the development community as well as a sandbox platform for testing your API projects.
